Banana Bread

Ingredients: 1 3/4 cup flour  1 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 eggs  2 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup oil 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon buttermilk  1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup walnuts, chopped. Alright so, first things first - grab a bowl and mix together all your dry ingredients.  Make sure it's all tossed together.  Also make sure you measure your flour properly. It matters.  In a separate bowl, mash up your bananas. Once you've gotten them mashed, add in your eggs and whisk it all up.   Go ahead and add  in the oil, buttermilk, and vanilla, too.  Grab that flour mixture and slowly mix it into the wet stuff.  Small increments, and make sure it's all combined well before adding more.  Once it's all mixed, go ahead and fold in those chopped walnuts.  Give it a good stir a couple times.   Now let's divide this batter between two loaf pans.  Grease 'e...

Snow days

Justin surprised us the other day by coming home a few hours early during the snow storm.   Ezra was the happiest.  He loves the snow so much.  Downside to city living is that we have no yard, but the plus side is we live super close to a park so it even out. 

Boys School

Art Deco Mansion

Completely gutted, but even still - the architecture of this building is absolutely incredible.  It's been abandoned for a few years since a mudslide made it uninhabitable.  It's a shame to see such a beautiful home reduced down to nothing.

Power Station

Spent a few hours exploring the massive building that used to be a power station.  It was built in 1920 and successfully ran until it's closing in 2004.
